Shawnteala "Ashanti" Cade
My career in education started just a little over 18 years ago where I have served in various leadership roles within the education sector in Cincinnati Public Schools. I have served as the Interim Principal and Assistant Principal at Westwood Elementary, Assistant Principal at Roberts Academy, Teacher, Team lead, Arts & Culture Facilitator, and Resource Coordinator at Chase Elementary and After-School Director here at Roll Hill School as well as Oyler School through the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati and the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati.
I entered the world of education untraditionally earning my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on Birth to 5 from Ashford University and then later completing my Masters in Elementary Education and a second Masters in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Most recently I have completed some Educational Leadership courses at Harvard University.
As an administrator, in an ever-evolving landscape of education, I value continuous lifelong learning, especially in the area of child development. Being knowledgeable in the growth and development of children is indispensable and assists in enhancing instructional strategies, fosters a supportive and inclusive school environment, informs professional development, and strengthens family and community engagement. By prioritizing building relationships with our students and understanding how they grow and learn, I believe I can effectively guide our students toward achieving academic excellence while nurturing well-rounded, resilient individuals that are prepared for the future.
I also strongly value positive relationships as it is practically impossible to lead a mission of educating students without it. I cherish being invited to former students graduations and weddings and now seeing their children born and attending school. I too want to build those long lasting relationships with the students and families of Roll Hill, to share the fond memories they have of the great education and experiences they received while attending our school!
