ABOUT ROLL HILL
Roll Hill School was built in 1967 on land obtained
by Cincinnati Public Schools from the Roll Family who owned
many acres of land in the North Fairmount area.. The original
Roll Hill building was closed as a school in June 1997. The
building was torn down starting in December 2003. New building
constructed on the site (2411 Baltimore Ave.) opened in August
2005.
New Roll Hill building is 84,000 square feet. The North Fairmount
School (built in 1954 at 2001 Baltimore Ave.) closed as a
school in June 2003, and North Fairmount students moved into
the Heinhold School building at 2240 Baltimore Ave. The former
Heinhold School became known as North Fairmount, and the Heinhold
name no longer was used.
Students from the merged North Fairmount/Heinhold School became
the new Roll Hill students when new building opened in August
2005. The building at 2240 Baltimore has been used since then
as temporary homes for schools awaiting the completion of
new construction. (Academy of World Languages was housed there
until December 2007; now R.A. Taft Information Technology
High School is using the building.)
